To all bands:
Remember, all iconic bands had their own look and sound, so create and don’t imitate.
That awkward moment when you sing out loud the wrong lyrics and you just don’t care
Take your time
You will see many bands, small and large that always go that extra mile for fans, the more they give, the more fans and friends want, sometimes fans even getting offended when they are not pleased. Most bands won’t complain & some will, but the one thing you will see is the more they give the more they will offend someone the day they say “Sorry I can’t”. You would...
Dear venues:
Until the day comes that venues pay the bands/artist percentage for merch instead of the other way around, venues can stop telling road Merch guys “This is how we do things here” and replace that with “How would you like us to do things for you”
To many venues seem to forget that they are getting paid by the bands a % to sell the merch and need to do things that are...

Perspective
Every so often someone will say something that puts things in perspective, on how it feels to live the life of someone else, if you have read my blogs you will know that I make fun of Nickelback and they always make fun back (it’s not a hate thing it’s just fun banter between roadie and band guys)
Well I have many friends that are in bands some loved and some hated, today I was...

These are my 5 questions to @markhoppus
Well I haven’t been able to get in contact with @markhoppus in order to get him to answer 5 question with @themechdude so I decided to just ask the questions here and hopefully someone will get them to him.
You guys can help by REBLOGGING so for some miracle it gets to him.
1) So you have been touring or a long time and you don’t seem to take yourself as serious than other bands...

Merch Displays
This is something I haven’t talked about the dreaded Merch display with its price tabs (that no one reads) the pins, clips some people use grids others foam boards (I like foam boards) body forms, lights, tables, table cloths etc etc. all these items are great and all and show that a Merch person and band understand that Merch is an important money maker for bands.
But does having a...

If only I would have listen...
How many times have you said this to yourself “If only I would have listen…” I have; many times and I have to say I’m thankful that I DIDNT LISTEN to anyone that told me you can’t make a living touring specially doing merch, I’m glad I didn’t listen! It’s been 10 years making a living where “They” said it was not possible.
If only I...
Anonymous asked: do you have any tips for a girl just starting out in merch?
Please, if you need to please someone
The music business is full of disappointments, great CDs that don’t do well, bad ones that do, bands having to change everything about themselves in order too get signed (BTW why would anyone agree to stop being themselves to become something they are not?, wouldn’t that just drive them insane?) anyways bands can’t please all their fans and fans can please all the bands, the...

Tour quotes
Young fans loving bands = career, Bands loving young fans = prison
A sense of humor goes a long why when your life isn’t making sense
A great song or a catchy music...
Every so often a song hits you and hits you hard, you dont care if people like the song or not, if its nominated or not, if its in the top 100 on billboard, it just feels like the artist is singing to you, you feel the pain behind the lyrics, that feeling is what separates a great song from catchy music.
We have a lot of catchy music out there that we “catch” ourselves singing them,...
There is great pain behind great lyrics
Negative? Positive...maybe
I can’t remember who said this but awhile back someone said “Life is like photography, you develop from the negatives”
The more I think about it the more positive I become every time something negative happens to me or the people around me. So the next time something bad happens don’t dread it just think of what this person said and it will help you smile when everyone...

The whole Grammy thing
Many people get nominated and it’s something many artist and musician strive for, but in reality does it really award the best in each category? Maybe not, do many untalented get awarded? Maybe so, so what is the lure of the Grammy’s? Maybe the prestige to win an award that many untalented have won in the pass, Milli Vanilli won one and they lip synced *side note during that period in...
